The iPod mini was released about 2.5 years after the original iPod. We are approaching the end of year 3 of the iPhone. It may be the time that Apple expands the product line. I think a smaller, multitouch iPhone with no 3G data or 3rd party apps would be a possibility. Just basic contacts, calendar, and music syncing. Wifi would be great for over the air syncing, but might not be likely without a browser to login to public hotspots. 4Gb version free with 2 year contract 8Gb version $79 with 2 year contract I think it would be a perfect companion to a 3G iPad, since it would eliminate a lot of duplicate functionality and monthly service fees.
