I have to admit it was nice being JB'en again. I like many others jumped on the new 4S JB for which everything was okay. all I did was install SBsettings, five icon dock and then Pandora skip. that's it, nothing more.

but then a few days later Springboard would randomly crash on me. I would restart the phone and it would be fine for a day or two. but then it would start to crash again.

arrggghhhh!!!! I depend on my iPhone too much for business so I can't afford to have my phone crashing like it was.

has anyone else gone through the same thing with the recent JB?

    I agree.
    I never install winterboard.
I have the pandora hack and sbsettings and never a problem so far with crashing.
I don't use that 5 icon dock so that might be it.

Don't listen to gladoscc, he's the guy who thinks organized crime is bugging his phone and recording his voice

Anyways, I'm on the same boat as you. I had some reboots and white icon issues with the JB (latest v of Absinthe) and went back to stock.

    SBSettings installs winterboard.

    Get weestats instead.

That's a fact, a vodafone employee told me that.

That's what I heard too but I have no need for it either.

A Rogers employee told me the iPhone was made by Google. Does that make it true? Nope.

So you're telling me a vodafone employee told you that Organized Crime put a roving bug in YOUR iOS software? LOL

No. I find this jailbreak extremely stable. I have SBSettings installed and have had no issues. I use Infinidock, so I can't comment on Five Icon Dock. I do not use PandoraSkip, but if I had to guess, I'd say that's your culprit. In any case I do not think it's the jailbreak that's the issue.

I have to disagree with people who are blaming Winterboard (sorry AppleJuiced). I've not had problems with WB since 3.x days. I don't install crazy themes, but I use WB to put my signal bars back to pre-4.0.1 form and my jailbreak is perfectly stable.

No it doesn't. They are separate installs.

True. He may have been thinking, "activator".)
Now, some SBSetting Themes require Winterboard, so be careful loading an SBSetting theme that also installs Winterboard at the same time...

When people go through crashes like that, instead of restoring the device, simply uninstall one thing at a time that you installed via cydia and see when the crashes stop occuring.

I have all kinds of apps on my JB 4S and it hasn't crashed on me yet. I am not going back to stock, if I don't have to.

You don't have to uninstall them, just turn off the Mobile Substrate Addons with SBSettings.

I've never really been big on themes. I would've kept my android if I wanted it to look cartoonish and whatnot. My friend clowned me for how corny my stock apps looks in the five column format.

But his iphone looks like a themed android. I can do without.
