It would be cool if Apple made the Watch as a kind of TouchID for Mac

Unless I'm mistaken, the watch and Mac have all the hardware to make this work. And Apple lets you access your credit cards with just the watch so they are pretty confident in its security. The watch also works with handoff on the Mac, so it definitely can interface with the computer.

It would be amazing if Apple let the Apple Watch unlock the Mac. It would work by not requiring a passcode to unlock the Mac if the watch is within 6 inches of the Mac. Would save so much time and be a killer feature for both products.

Does that auto-unlock by proximity or do you have to open up the glance and tap every time you want to unlock the Mac? Couldn't find clarification on that.

Cool idea. Picture an NFC reader the KB or bottom edge of the monitor.

Bluetooth 4.0 could already do this with the current hardware though, it's how Tiles and most other bluetooth finders work.

There's an app called Knock which is supposed to do something similar. Worked once then quit for good.
