The icon starts to show the openig screen for about one second then goes back to the icon. Can load all the apps that came with the itouch but none of the downloaded apps. They were all working before I tryed to sync with PC. Have only owned this for four days and was very happy. Have tryed the setting in settings - general - reset - erase all setting and content. iPod touch Itouch will not load games.

You should never use "erase all settings and content" unless you are selling / giving away your ipod and want to delete all your personal content. Now you'll have to restore your ipod and start from scratch.
The most likely reason why your apps stopped opening is that the PC you synced with was signed on to a different iTunes account than the one you used to download the apps that were on your ipod. The fix for this is to sign out of the wrong account and sign in to the correct one.
