The Scottish Cabinet has been discussing whether to proceed with implementing marriage equality in the country at their weekly meeting today in Edinburgh. With broad cross party support in the Holyrood Parliament any drafted bill is likely to easily pass, so should the SNP administration decide to proceed Scotland could have full equal marriage by the end of this year. Recent polls also suggest a wide majority of Scots want to equalise the marriage legislation. The country currently has Civil Partnerships for lesbian and gay couples as with the rest of the UK. Press conference has been called for 4pm local time.
