Ok, just back from my try on at the Apple store in Norwich (UK) and one thing has struck me! This thing looks huge in photos, in real life its Not!! I have 170mm wrists and despite the photos looking BIG on my wrist, in real life, it's perfect, not big at all! You guys need to see this thing in real life!!!

Tried on loads of different styles and the clear winner without a doubt is.....

The Milanese Loop! Just beautiful

Can't wait to get my Milanese Loop 42mm :D
Going to try it in a few hours!

I've got an appointment for 5:30pm.

Did they let you mix and match with all the models/bands? I want to see what other bands look good with the space grey sport

100% NO. They are sending you all to their in store kiosk stations to order via the online store. Even Apple staff are waiting till June for theirs

Which surely means that given that the stores did not open till 9am, and all stock for the 24th April -05th May was sold out by around 0810 - that on the 24th April, there won't be a single person who will walk out of an apple store with an apple watch????

Surely thats not what Apple have planned?

Its incredible! Feels the most exclusive and the best fitting band without a doubt!

Was it snappy?

The try-on watches were just demos (said its to stop people running off with them lol) They have fixed watches in stands that are live and yes, no issues what so ever! (obviously no hand off apps in action)

Yes, if you ask nicely, to be honest I was so blown away by the milanese everything else went on the back burner.

Can we get some 38mm Sport pics in here when you go to the appointments please?

:D

imho the 38mm is 100% a girls watch!! Its got that feel to it sorry to say.

The sport is way lighter than the SS

I tried the Milanese too (Milton Keynes) and it is definitely much nicer in the flesh than the pictures.

Still think the asymmetrical strap attachment because of the loop looks a bit odd though.

I'm sure I'll get used to it. I hope so at least since that's the one I orderd this morning.

Damn that bezel :( which it filled the whole screen, guess we gotta wait for take two on that one.

lol, come on now - a girls watch?

That looks fine to me and my 160mm wrists.

That is a 42mm black sports by the way. When you see this thing in real life a lot will agree. The 38mm looks feminine in its size. Ignore all photos!! You have to actually try the real thing on

It's official! Ignore the photos!! This thing is a dream (UK)

Is that the 38mm? If so it looks fine to me and not a girls watch at all?

Edit: just noticed your post above.

I have to disagree.

The 38mm looked pretty ridiculous on my rather large arm but it would be fine on a guy with smaller arms.

It really comes down to your build rather than gender.

These "girl watch" comments are really grating on me. :p *flicks hair*

Seriously there are smaller dudes out there that don't particularly like large watches.

lmao, love this. Trust me, my wrists are small compared to most of my friends and the 38mm looked like a 'hers' from a his and hers lol

Did you see the SS with bright blue leather loop by any chance? just wondered how it looks because i've pre-ordered one :)

My wrists are 165mm so I went with the 38mm. Will see what it looks and feels like when I get it and then make a decision from there on whether to keep or return for the 42mm.

I'm not liking the black sport at all. Looks kinda cheap. I know what they say about opinions but glad I got the SS.

Are you generally a watch wearer? See my husband always has smaller sized watches, and hes gone for the 38. hes so adamant he doesnt wasnt a 42 and i worry about the reality. I couldnt decide (I actually would prefer 42, and im a small lass) and ordered both and will check it out at my appointment in 2 hours.

Out of interest, does the Space Gray watch look / feel a little cheap in real life compared to others?

I did indeed, you did the 100% right thing with the SS, it screams quality over the lighter sport version. All the leather straps look really nice and the blue is striking (no photos of it though I'm afraid)

I'm off to try one on in MK at 12:30, managed to order a Space Grey Sport at 8:02! A lot smoother than I thought it was going to be using the app.

Hoping to try the new MacBook too, did you see if there were any in the MK store? I'd read that they may not have any yet?!
