When I first download the iTunes 8.0.1 update, it downloads, but then towards the end of the "installing," an error occurs. Yes, I have already tried turning my computer off and rebooted. It then says to click "tools" then "download only," which I did and it downloaded a folder onto my computer. But now what? What do I click on next? (I tried clicking on each of the icons in the folder - nothing happens)

are u doing this on an admin account? if not then you need an admin account i also suggest if that dosent work just go to apple.com and download it from there. It would definitely work if u download strait from apple website im a pc user =)

I'm having the same problem...except now after trying the installation I cannot even open iTunes...I get this message

“The iTunes application cannot be opened. A required iTunes component is not installed. Please Repair or reinstall QuickTime. (-42404)
