iTunes 8 - Genre when browsing and Grid view issue

Suddenly I can't find the "Show Genre when Browsing" option in preferences. I need to get rid of the genre. Weird.

Also, Grid view is really neat, but it seems like it's listing Artists and Album Artists as well. But with the way I tag, it doesn't work - I just need Artists.

Eh, kind of annoying so far.

Heh, I looked at the grid view for 5 seconds and then just switched back to coverflow. The genius bar is great though .

its in the options tab..

theres a different layout altogether for the options with more otions in another tab

To get rid of Genre in Browse mode:

Quit iTunes

Launch terminal and enter:
defaults write com.apple.itunes show-genre-when-browsing -bool FALSE

Relaunch iTunes. Genre gone

The albums are sorted by artists' name

In the grid view, I can't get the albums sorted by the Album's Title. Is there a way to do that? While it's nice to have album grouped by artist, I got confused since I was expecting a sorting by title when I choose [Albums].

Right click on the bar at the top (next to where it says Artists, Albums, etc) and select Sort Albums by.

List view for me. And they sullied it a bit. I need to see all the songs in a list.

unbelievable! why did they get rid of the option to hide genre? the genre column is so useless and adds even more clutter to the already bloated UI
