iTunes says that my music library is 4,69 GB large, but when I try to sync my library (music only) to my iPod Touch 16 GB I get a message that says something like "the iPod can't be synchronized, there's not enough free space (14,6 GB is availble but 15,7 GB is needed)" WHAT?

Why does iTunes claim that my library is 15,7 GB (it's no where near that big!) when I try to synchronize?!

When you click on your iPod in iTunes, who much space does it show as free in the bottom of the screen? Sounds like you have something else in there that is taking up all of your space...

No, I haven't got ANYTHING on my iPod. The weird thing is that at the bottom of the window iTunes says my music library is only 4,69 GB, but when I try to synchronize a message pops up to tell me I'm trying to synchronize 15,7 GB!

Restore iPod or get the other stuff of. Simple.

I suspect some video is "getting through". How are you only syncing music?

I have restored it 2 times, that just led to more problems, now my January Software Update is missing from the iPod. :(

I've only marked the checkbox "Synchronize music", the others for movies, podcasts and and so on are unchecked.

Another weird thing is that if I choose to synchronize "all tracks and playlists" I get the pop up warning me that my library is more than 15 GB big and will not fit on my ipod (its not that big, only 4,69 GB!), but if I create a playlist with ALL my music and choose only to synchronize that one, it works perfectly.

similar things have been happening to me with my 1st gen nano as well, expect it's not taking in new podcasts even though i have enough room for said podcasts. i'm on 7.2 btw.

It seems like one of your playlist contains videos. If I'm not mistaken your iPod is including the videos so you can access them through the Music section and be able to play them audio only. I know you could do this in the 5th gen iPod so I'm assuming it works the same way for the Touch, I'm at work so I can't check my Touch to be 100% sure. I suspect the Recently Added playlist might be the one with the videos.

    Problem Solved!

I now know what the problem was!

When I added all my podcasts, they where also placed in the playlist "Recently added", and that playlist was synchronized along with the music. So it wasn't the videos, it was the podcasts

    Thank's everyone for your help!
