itunes duplicate songs selection...

hello guys,


i have a library with over 8000 songs in it, and i have no idea how... i have apparently 1762 duplicate songs! probably arose with a screwed up library file...


i want to delete the duplicates. in itunes, when you view duplicate songs you get a list, but to select ones to erase you have to manually select EVERY OTHER SONG in the duplicate songs list...

and clicking 900 times just won't cut it...

any suggestions?

I'd be interested to know the answer to this as we had a thread about it in the past, but we got no answer so I guess there is no solution unless one of the scripts worked?!?!

The thing about doing it automatically may not be a good idea. I have different versions of songs with the same name, it appears to find songs according to their name. I have multiple songs with the same name from different artists. doing this automatically maybe quite hard.
