I've made a Smart Playlist of any song below 256 KBPS to see what will be upgraded. I have about 81 songs that will technically sound better.

Yes. I have about 3,000 songs that I spent several weeks importing from CDs back in 2003 or 2004. I wished I had done a higher bit rate on them and some of the discs were scratched/dirty so it's great to be able to upgrade this stuff with match.

yes - higher bit rate is great for older, low bit rate imports.

for teenagers with cheap buds - maybe us a while back - bit rate didn't matter, or wasn't noticable, but as we start investing in the finer things in life ( thielaudio.com plug! ) the difference is very apparent.

One thing I hope they change when it comes out of beta is that when it doesn't update album information or download album art if you don't already have for the song in your library.
