Description:: iPhone and iPod touch-wielding visitors to next week’s Macworld Conference and Expo can enhance their visit to the show with a handy guide made available by iViewr.com.

Completely free to access, this handy ‘Pod SnapShot’ provides details of every aspect of the show – from conference schedules to speaker profiles, travel directions, disabled access, Moscone Center facilities and more.

“Rather than carrying around a jumble of papers, maps and leaflets, iViewr provides visitors to the show with all of the important information especially formatted for display on their iPhones or iPods” said Rod Cambridge, founder of iViewr.

To access the guide, simply browse to www.iviewr.com on an iPhone or iPod touch and press "Our Choice".

cool concept. It will be great to see how this evolves. I am surprised by how un-web app it is. Feels almost as an installed app.

I wonder if this will be community maintained. I can't imagine that if it's maintained in-house that it'll ever be very useful. For example, there's only 6 airports at the moment.

    Can WE add more?

At the moment, no - but hopefully that will change.

I set up iViewr a few months ago as a bit of an experiment but as you've seen it will probably work best with input from everyone!

I'm looking into the possibility of creating a web 2.0 type web app which runs on desktop browsers which will enable users to create and submit their own guides for everyone else to use. These could cover many different topics and would not just be limited to the types of event or attraction guides I currently have up there.

Essentially if you browse to iviewr.com with an iPod or iPhone, you'll get the guides that you currently see - but if you visit the site with a desktop browser, you'll get the web app which allows you to create content.

If anyone has any ideas or other input regarding this, feel free to reply here or ping me privately.

This looks like it could/will become very useful, congratulations!
I would like to suggest that you add some thin margins to your content pages, having the text run right to the edges always gives the impression that text is being cut off.

Best of luck, I'm definitely bookmarking this site in my iPhone.

    Thanks Bob!

I did wonder about the margins... I'll have a look at this - if it's something I can fix easily in the CSS then I'll aim to do this before the show starts. If it's a lil' more in depth then it may have to wait until after.

Either way - thanks ever so much for the feedback!
