Has anyone Jailbroke a 3GS Old Bootrom on 5.0.1 with Redsn0w 0.9.9b8?

Do you just select the 5.0 firmware ipsw in Redsn0w instead of 5.0.1?

Is it still an untethered Jailbreak on 3GS Old Bootrom?

Any issuses for anyone who has done this and how is your battery life?

Thanks

If you want to just jailbreak your device, you can select the 5.0 IPSW and everything will work smoothly. With the old bootrom, you'll be untethered on 5.0.1.

However, if you need to preserve your baseband, redsn0w has not been updated to create a 5.0.1 custom IPSW. I've been using sn0wbreeze to create custom firmware to preserve the baseband when necessary.

Exactly this! My old 3GS is jailbroken on 5.0.1 and remains untethered. Not worried about baseband on this one so I pointed to 5.0 and let her rip!
