It's not a Universal Binary? That's odd...

I would imagine that it will be changed to Universal soon... that's a lot of macs to be left out of the jailbreaking if they can't add PPC support.

Well Is There A Way For People With Powerpc's To Jailbreak?

Sorry Oliver, there is no way for ppc users to jailbreak yet. I am in the same boat as you right now. The best thing to do now...be patient. I know, when i saw the topic "ipod touch jailbroken" i was soo excited, only to be let down...for now. Ill give em a few more days. If there is no universal support then, i will just go to the apple store and jailbreak on a display comp.

Hopefully, but nobody knows. One could deduce through logical thinking that if these guys can figure out how to break the 1.1.1 firmware, they sure as hell can figure out how to make it happen on PPCs.

Hopefully my brother will be gentle enough to let me borrow his MacBook for half an hour. Otherwise I just have got to wait..

Or buy a MacBook Pro

Are you sure it's the right version? The touchdev.com instructions say on step 6:

(You MUST use this iPHUC to do the jailbreak, you cannot use the normal iPHUC to do so, but after you finish the jailbreak, use the normal iPHUC)

The problem seems to reside not only in iPhuc (which needs to be compiled for PPC) but also in Readline, that famous library file that should be in the /opt/local/lib/ folder. This one also needs to be PPC. I have installed MacPorts, installed Readline for PPC, installed XCode, compiled iPhuc and I still cannot copy the rdisk0s1 image disk to my hard drive (it creates an empty file in less than a second instead of showing the transfer of every byte for 1-2 minutes).

Fortunately, I had a Intel Mac at home, so my iPod is now hacked and full of native apps...
