Jailbreaking Made my iPod touch Faster

I have my 1G iPod touch with the older 412MHz processor. Since I wanted to make it as usable as possible for the time being, I jailbroke it on 3.1.3. To my surprise, it seems faster now! The swiping between pages of apps seems smooth and when I quit and app to go back to the home screen, i actually get an animation much more now instead of just a flash to my icons. Anyone else notice this?

Jailbreaking, if do correctly, can speed up an iDevice. It'll slow down again over time, but all things do.

It will be faster if you disable the correct things and don't install Winterboard and other junk. Thus, freeing up memory and making the CPU work less.
