Jailbreaking questions

So to start with, this is on the Second Gen Jailbreak. Everyone knows that a new ipod touch will be announced this fall, and it will come with 3.0 OS. Here are my questions:

-Can jailbreaking only for the home page background mess up your touch?

-If I want to jailbreak, should I get the 2g touch or will jailbreaking still work on the 3g when it comes out?

-How hard is it to JB on a 2g?

Jailbreaking is jailbreaking, you are doing it at your own risk and yes there's the slightest chance.

-If I want to jailbreak, should I get the 2g touch or will jailbreaking still work on the 3g when it comes out?
If its possible for the last two gens, I'm pretty sure it'll be possible for the third gen as well. I think its just a matter of waiting until some dev. releases it.

-How hard is it to JB on a 2g?
Not hard at all. I'm not tech savvy but it took me about 10 minutes (max) to do this for my younger brother.
