Hey guys,

Ive been trying to jailbreak my ipod and it's so difficult! Every time i make a customized restore .ipsw and try to restore it as that, it says " an unknown error has occurred." Now what? please help!

Thanks.

try quickfreedom I have not heard about any bad jailbreak results.

FYI I have never been able to restore my 1st gen with a custom IPSW either I just go with quickpwn now as its just easier just like quickfreedom.

I found redsn0w to be the easiest way. I did it on a Mac, which involves doing a few Terminal commands as well, but apparently the Windows version is even easier. You put your iPod into DFU mode and connect it, open the redsn0w.exe file and it immediately starts modifying the software on the iPod.

The 2G Redsn0w jailbreak is incredibly easy, it involves opening a file, following the on screen instructions to put your iPod in DFU and thats it, the rest is done by its self.

If I use a windows machine to jailbreak my 2g ipod can I connect it to a mac machine after it has been jail-broken?

ok cool I will just manage music and videos with the mac only but I will try this when I get home.

Thank you
