This has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
I think this is funnier:
I saw those
I saw those, but I like this more...
THIS is the FUNNIEST thing I think, its hilarious
I wholeheartedly agree - I saw that a couple of weeks ago (jengajam.com - I vist them daily for gems on the web) and laughed out loud - brilliant writing and very, very nice animation. Takes a poke at both sides, which is refreshing.
As for the others, End Of World is a classic - cute and enjoyable. Rapping Star Wars held my attention for 12 seconds. The Bin Laudin thing is just so over....but the jibjab Bush/Kerry bit astounds me with its writing, choice of song, overall content and professionalism. Beautiful piece.
I love that. We passed it around at work last week. I loved the part with Kerry in the bondage getup and Bush riding the bomb down. I am not sure who comes off worse in it.
That was pretty damn funny too.
waround the world
I saw a trailer of this clip on the french News two days ago and this morning they showed a small clip on CNN. They must be pleased with themselves.
They did a great job on the animation and I like the fact they don't take sides.
they're all quite good...
Jibjab's is good except that Bush is really flat near the end. It's pretty excrutiating.
And the best thing about the star wars one is the warning about how it's "graphics intensive" and the suggestion that one should have a Pentium 2 to be able to handle its raw power. I love the development of technology.
You don't have to see Spiderman 2, since you can watch this Lego version free!
The Peril of Doc Ock
Edit: I forgot to report the funniest thing about jibjab.com: My mom told me about it before I saw it here! It took a while for her to get up to speed on this "Internet thing", but now... look out world!
End of the world was the funniest, in my opinion.
This one's not bad....
GOD! That thing is so stupid. How could they let the good name of spiderman be reuined by lego?
Doc Ock looks like Elton John. A pissed off Elton John. With tentacles.
How dare you?! Lego is far, far superior to Spiderman. Geez! The nerve of some people...
A Jibjab showdown
Bush-Kerry parody draws the ire of the music publisher that owns the Guthrie song.

it's obvious satire/parody that's protected under fair-use.
Well, as you can probably tell, I was amused by "This Land." Good stuff! It's refreshing to see BOTH sides bashed for once.
Yes. Even though I think W is a great president I laughed as hard at W riding the bomb down as I did at Kerry done up like the gimp.
I don't know about you, but I have no desire to see Elton John's tentacles.
Okay, here's another one, with Will Ferrell playing Dubya:
Warning: the server's kind of slow...but it's still worth it.
"This Land is Your Land" has made it to the iTunes Music Store.
The JibJab DVD came out today, with "This Land is Your Land" and "Good to Be in DC!" They are free on the Internet, but if you buy the DVD you get a nifty DVD case with pictures and words on it. OK, not a great bargain, but I got one anyway because my friend lives near the office where they are made and got one in person from Gregg and Evan, the brothers who made it, this morning.
The back of the DVD case says
Of course in only a week none of these silly election animations will be of interest to anybody anymore. Good luck selling these things, guys!
not necessarily. If they are parodying the song, then its protected. if they are merely using the tune to parody something else, it could be considered infringment. Its not as cut and dry as it might appear.
Though the actual writer of the song could have cared less.
They say that there is always a little truth in comedy. I think its a job well done. They treated both candidates equally. So no real complaint on my part, my wife always says they some humor is needed.
