Kurds have an old saying: "No friends but the mountains." This is yet another prime example of this administration's terrible foreign policy decisions.

I remember a few years ago when Crazy Joe wanted Iraq split into Kurdish, Sunni, and Shi'a autonomous regions. Outmaneuvered by the Islamist regime in Ankara.

What's your position on this matter?
Are the Kurds the only entity in the region?
Are you allied with the Kurds?
...or is this just another one of those attacks that suit a political agenda?

The US does have a long history of helping (or using) Kurds when it suits us and leaving them in the dust when we think we have bigger fish to fry somewhere else and with somebody else who has other ideas about the Kurds. The Kurds' predicament seems to be the fate of an ethnic group located where it is, and having been parceled into different countries by Europeans a hundred years ago. Whether it's reasonable to try to turn an assortment of autonomous regions and rebellious provinces into the greater Kurdistan of their dreams, I don't know. Turkey doesn't seem to flip flop on the issue at all, so... could be a long slog.
