It's been awhile since we've had an installment of the American Dick series here in PRSI. But, it's time for a new one and today's installment features Joe Walsh (no, not the guy from The Eagles), who you may know best as the congressman from Illinois, preacher of fiscal responsibility who is a deadbeat dad that owes over $100,000 in child support and had his drivers license suspended for failing to pay his insurance premium.

I hope so, but in the back of my mind I'm imagining the right imagining her as a commie, pinko, socialist wolf in sheep's clothing. It could happen...

    As if veterans vote.

Speaking for myself of course. I've become so disillusioned with American politics that it'll be a wonder if I even keep living here once I've graduated.

    What an idiot.

FWIW, Walsh is polling poorly against Duckworth, according to an article I read the other day. (I tried to find it, but the results have been buried in variations of the article yg17 quoted, plus articles about some other guy named Joe Walsh. ;) )

Which country are you considering moving to?

This is a majority view in the UK for example.

Oh idk. I've looked at a few, but it would depend on job prospects mostly. So long as everything continues to go well I'll be graduating with a BS in an engineering field. Some countries (like New Zealand) are seeking out people with skills, so who knows.

    ----------

I disagree, maybe older veterans, but most people I know/known in the military didn't vote.

    It's all anecdotal of course.

Lots of countries are seeking out people with skills, but most people in most Western democracies are disillusioned with their government.

The other Joe Walsh is campaigning for Duckworth

He wants her to win because he doesn't want that other prick in the news ruining his good name ;)

That may or may not be true, but I'm an adventurer. The prospects of living and experiencing new places is very appealing.

You definitely should travel and try living in another country for at least a bit. It gives you a whole new perspective.

I thought it was funny he said he was 'an adventurer'.. yet he's still in his home country schooling system, is a teenager with bags of physical energy yet he has one of the highest daily post rates on PSRI :D

But it's right - moving around, seeing other countries, living with different people is a real education.

Hah, he's only a teenager? So the guy with the "superior driving skills who can text and drive safely" has only been a licensed driver for no more than 4 years?

So this guy was on CNN yesterday doing a 10 minute interview with an anchor named Ashley. He kept repeating her name over and over again each time he answered a question. Sometimes four or five times in a row even. It was so insane that I actually rewound the video to tally up just how many times he said her name. I was stunned with the number: 90

That's 9 times a minute. I would say it would make a good drinking game, but I would be drunk off my ass if I had to take 90 shots in 10 minutes. LOL

The guy is not only a douchebag, he really is insane too. I like that MSNBC has started to refer to him as "Crazy Joe". They are correct. He is.

Reviving this installment of the American Dick series, Walsh has stepped into yet another pile of elephant dung, this time in a televised debate in Chicago:

    http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way...-never-a-reason-for-abortion-congressman-says

Seriously, the other Joe Walsh needs to grab one of his old used up guitars and El Kabong this jerk upside the head... HARD.

Quite frankly, that's what Americans do way too little of (foreign travel other than to just sit on another country's beach). Many think that since they live in the no. 1 country in the world, why go or even visit anywhere else?

I noticed this tends to be the view of the conservative, rightwing, flad-waving crowd much more than progressives. It's a shame, because you can then see their skewed view the world and their place in it in their politics.

I feel your pain, I'm in Todd Akin's district. Having a moron like that represent you really sucks, because the first thing out of people's mouths when they see stuff like that is "Wow, the people in his district are a bunch of ****ing idiots if they voted for him."

What's the polling like? Is he going to get re-elected or is it looking like Tammy will win?
