Figured this would get political quickly so I put the thread in here.

Hell of a run. I still watch regularly.

I wonder who will become the third host of the Daily Show?

Kilborn was good when he was on. Bring back 5 questions.

Larry Wilmore's new show is pretty good.

The safe money is on Jason Jones. Aasif Mandvi would be hysterical.

But personally, I'd love to see a woman take the helm. Samantha Bee would be a safe bet, but a little over the top. Kristen Schaal would be too...psycho. How about Jessica Williams?

I wonder what's next for Jon Stewart.

Jason Jones was horrible when he filled in for Jon. John oliver was fantastic but of course he has his own show on HBO now.

JS was very good, had many laughs with him even though I'm a independent moderate.

    He's going to take over.......

He's going to take over NBC news for Brian Williams. Since Brian Williams makes up the news just like Jon Stewart, no one would notice the difference.

That's really really sad for me. I enjoy the daily show every day it's on. With out Jon on the daily show my tv has no purpose. :(

The Daily show has run its course

Last Week Tonight is both funnier and more culturally important at this point.

As much as I love the daily show, I agree completely with the second statement.

LWT is what the Daily Show started out as. Most of us realize that the real problems in our country are not a result of people who are "red" or "blue".

    No. :(

I love Larry Wilmore's show so hopefully they can replace Stewart with someone good. Too late for John Oliver though...

Actually, NBC wanted him to host Meet the Press. They settled for a joke instead.

It's sad to see him go, but hopefully the Daily show (or a show like it) will carry on. The state of the world needs criticism and it seems now these jesters have a more serious message than our leaders.

Oh this is the PRSI... so source on the bold, underlined statement please?

It kind of is... and I think the forum where Oliver is allowed to be more crude actually enhances the poignancy of what he has to say. A lot of the funniest stuff he says you can't get away with on network TV.

Most likely something involving political commentary. I think it's in his blood.
