Hi people, long time lurker, first time poster, I've been reading the Macbook Pro forums more than the iphone forums though!
My Nokia N73 broke a few days ago, so I'm looking in to getting a new phone. Of course the iphone crossed my mind, I tried to rule it out, and thought 'wait for the next one, the better one' but no, the big kid inside of me ruled out my head.
So here we go. I looked at the O2 website, £35 for the minimum contract, that's a lot of money for each month, but I would get unlimited (to a certain degree) internet acces via edge also free access via cloud.
IF i got an unlocked iphone, i am guessing this is goodbye to the unlimited internet via edge and goodbye to the unlimited internet via cloud? Would for example, O2 'simplicity' at £15 a month plus the unlimited web browsing for £7.50 a month give the iphone edge internet as it usually would?
I suppose if I got free internet I wouldnt be too fussed about free wifi from cloud. I would just use wifi when I'm at home.
How reliable are the iphones? I've read that if you do anything to them you're not covered by apple.I don't want to spend £269 or even £329 if it's likely to break.
As apple do not cover the phones is there any way around this? Such as house insurance or anything?
Another question which isn't so important is that I have heard that the Iphone does not allow custom ringtones such as mp3s? does the unlocked iphone allow this with any certain apps?
Will the unlocked iphone work as the fully functioning ipod? or will certain features not work?
Does the unlocked iphone work exactly as the regular iphone on contract would?
Is there anything else that I should probably know before leaping in to buying an iphone?
Thanks for reading this post, and thankyou in advance for help/advice
