Had my 11 inch air sitting on the carpet next to me in my chair for a second and I accidently knocked an empty corona bottle off the table and the neck of it landed on the edge of it near the camera. Now it is dented :( Not even paid off yet.

    Feels bad man :(

Did you use a credit card to buy it? You may have some kind of accidental damage insurance.

At least it wasn't water damage. What kind of Chase card was it? If it was a Visa Signature, chances are it wouldn't pay for the repair (it covers things like vandalism).

I don't know about the Sapphire, Slate, or Freedom cards.

Know how you feel. Dented my 2011 Mustang last week. Still paying for it. Got new bumper. It is what it is. They need an MBA body shop methinks. Sorry about your dent. :)

I think that's the same as the Freedom card now. Does it have a Visa or Mastercard logo? If it's a Visa, I think it would have the Visa Signature benefits, but check with Chase.

Don't think you would say that if it happened to your MBA ;)

It would be pretty liberating to get over the new computer cautiousness with that first dent. I'm going to bet that your next second dent won't feel so bad. It is cool to see people not babying things and to treat them like work tools. I have to force myself to stop treating the MBA like some delicate fragile thing.

Trust me, the first dent on my Corvette would have been a lot worse, and I still felt the same way. Getting upset is a wasted effort. Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade... :D

Part of the reason they do is that Apple heavily emphasizes attractive design. The typical plastic notebook is actually less susceptible to denting and other damage, but also less attractive in the first place.

Fiberglass does not dent, it cracks. Bad analogy. ;)

How do you dent a corvette? The body is fiberglass, it'll crack before it dents.

Actually not a dent. In that case a rock chipped the paint. AND I've dragged the front air dam over every inch of asphalt in Tampa Bay, leaving it scruffy looking.

    Character.

An ice cold Corona with lime in a glass bottle on a hot day is one of life's joys.

I don't know what beer they actually drank, but I think about that scene in the movie Shawshenk Redemption when all of the prisoners are drinking ice cold beer on the roof of a building after working because of Andy, and then the prison guard says, "Drink up, ladies."
