I just had to loan my daughter my big 4x4 truck, I'd love to get out and burn some CO2 through my V10.

I've only had to use my global warming blower once this year so far. And guess what...a frozen chunk of climate change broke a shear pin. I just bought six replacement bolts and need to repair it.

Good that you understand that Global Warming is a misnomer.

My little C230 made it up the driveway, so if I need to go get milk and bread, I can. Got to love posi-traction, I have to turn of the Electronic Stability Program, or it applies the break to the tire that is slipping, and the pos never kicks in.

I live at 3000 ft above sea level, on a road called See Off Mountain. I bet it's really deep with Global Warming up the road on Cold Mountain.

At least my daughter made it to work safe, she can burn CO2 for me.

Someone does not understand the difference between weather and climate. Ignorance on full display here, and worn as a badge of honor.

    Sad!

It's cold and snows in the winter. Thus global warming is a hoax.

It's so utterly simple-minded, that one should be too embarrassed to even bring it up.

But it's a free country. If you want to demonstrate your ignorance, be my guest.

My 8,500 lbs. GVW 4x4 V10 gets 12 MPG on the highway, by contrast my 80,000 lbs. GVW Semi gets 7 MPG.

I wish Mercedes made a big 4x4 truck for sale in the US, I might lower my carbon footprint.

    It is sad.
But I guess part of the growing tide of anti-science, anti-intellectual thinking in the US and the UK.

I think when it comes to economics they have a point.

I presume your Semi isn't very aerodynamic? It's scary how much more fuel efficient it is. The small truck should do ~50mpg I'd guess...

My Semi is a conventional, they are pretty aerodynamic. It's amazing what the right transmission will do for a truck.

IMHO commentators are trying to sugar coat the massive levels of stupidity* by calling it "anger".
    --- Post Merged, Jan 7, 2017 ---
    Exactly.

nonsense term used by people who want to sugarcoat or don't care about getting to the root causes of issues
a lot of bigots and xenophobics were trump supporters, but not all of them are. there was a decent size coalition who voted for obama but then voted for trump. in that respect obama, despite his successes, failed.

its not a good idea for democrats (and liberals) to just paint trump supporters as all racists and bigots. those things probably mean less than the economy and jobs.

No need for them to have "leapt the pond". This bloody country has always had more than its fair share of them.

I know they are angry for a reason. Lack of jobs and pay rises.
    --- Post Merged, Jan 7, 2017 ---
The bigot vote explains some of the Trump and Brexit support. But ~15% of the population being racist doesn't add up to the 45-55% who voted for Brexit/Trump.

I don't believe in man made climate change. I'm all for conserving our resources and being good stewards of our planet. When I was growing up in school we were all taught that the next ice age was 30 years away unless we "acted now". After Katrina we were told that hurricanes were going to be much worse and they have been far tamer since then. The climate has always been in flux. They used to be able to grow olives in Britain far before the Industrial Age.

It's foolish arrogance to assume that this temperature is the earths optimum operating climate and that the earth wants to stay right here. There have been many documented ice ages and great warming spells. How is the god of Science that so many people here seem to worship going to shop the next ice age?
