Greetings everyone
Here it is some comments about Mojave.
A few days ago I’ve upgrade my « old » Macbook Air 2015 (2,2 GHz i7, 8 Go) from High Sierra to Mojave (10.14.6).
And I can tell you it is really AWESOME. Never seen my MBAir sooooooo fast and snappy ! Also, Mojave includes many new things I like very much : Dark mode, Desktop stacks, Gallery View, Apple News and many others !
I was afraid about many 32 bits apps (mostly games !) already installed in my MBAir. But at the end they run perfectly.

Cheers to everyone and stay in good health.

Thanks for your feedback. I honestly think Mojave is the best OS since Snow Leopard. I'm SO happy that I'm staying on this OS for the long haul, as I'm running a 2010 Mac Pro (with Metal graphics) and this is the last supported OS. Sierra was OK but High Sierra was slower, laggy and was obviously itself learning from the new APFS file system. Mojave seems a more refined, polished version of HS, and I agree: Dark Mode is wonderful. I did try Catalina (via dosdude's patch - just for fun but found performance not as good, I didn't like Music and I wasn't keen on running an unsupported OS. Mojave I am staying with.

Hi !

Your comparaison with Snow Leopard is damn right !

Thanks
Are you saying that OSs separated by 10 years, can be compared? That was the OS for my 4-core, bought new, and everything has changed radically since then. I certainly don’t remember it’s speed compared to other OSs. I also liked Mojave, but more for the features, not the speed. I went to Catalina on my 2012 MBP, but even with a big SSD, it was still slow compared to my upgraded cMP. I did the upgrade to Catalina with OpenCore and it is about 20% faster than Mojave on my 12-core where everything has been upgraded. I forgot how big the compressed was for 10.6, but likely only a few gigabyte. Catalina has a compressed installer with 8GB.
