KDE is now available in the "unstable" beta version for Mac OS X. You can read about it here: http://fink.sourceforge.net/news/kde.php

This is pretty cool, and I am a closet fan of Linux and such, but I don't understand the point of running a desktop environment INSIDE of the Mac Aqua GUI. Wouldn't that be pointless. I know that some people really love KDE, and it would be great if they could make it like Linux and have it replace Aqua, but running it at the same time? What kind of system resources does it take up? Doesn't it slow down your computer?

Or does this act like classic and allow you to run any Linux programs in KDE? That would be great, because there are some awesome programs that are only for linux that haven't been recompiled for OS X yet. Even with the usage of the system resources it would be worth it. (even though i hate classic.)

Is this what it's all about?
