Basically: is there any way to keep using the Nike watch face from my old Nike Watch (Series 2) on my new non-Nike Watch (Series 7)?

I really enjoyed the watch face with big digital letters – the big font numerals look much nicer to me, compared to any other digital watch face Apple offers on the non-Nike watches. Plus this Nike face allowed display of 4 complications.

None of the other watch faces comes close in my opinion. Sure it's just a watch face, but in that term it feels like a massive downgrade. Which is weird – the stainless steel version isn't even available as an official Nike version, costs much more but kinda has less software features – sorry for the rant but 🤬 wtf Apple...

I switched over from the Series 5 Space Black Stainless Steel to a Midnight Nike Series 7, I don’t think I could go back without the Nike watch faces now. I use the Nike faces about 90% of the time on my watch.

Yeah, it really feels like a downgrade… :(

Honestly, I'd even pay extra just for having this watch face back. But there is simply no "upgrade" option. It's so dumb.
My only option seems to return the Stainless Steel and get a Nike one instead. But since Stainless Steel isn't availble as "Nike", Apple will actually lose money… Also I don't like the color options of the Nike ones this season…

C'mon Apple/Nike, at least give us an IAP, I'd spend an extra 10-15 bucks for you to unlock this, even though I already paid premium…

You wasted your money getting the SS version. THE useful watch faces that Nike has to offer

Maybe true - but I really didn't like any of the colors of the Aluminum Watches this season, incl. Nike versions. Not sure why, but can't stand most shades of the color blue in general. So "Midnight" gives me nightmares. I feel so disgusted just looking at it… 😅 "Starlight" I found just meh… the dark stainless steel really was the only one I could imagine looking at on a daily base.

Seems the decision was just where to accept the downgrade… overall look of the watch or look of the watch face. Still, these software limitations are really stupid…

Actually, thinking about it, why can’t Apple/Nike link the Nike Watch face to owning a Nike Watch band. Just add a (one time) QR code to the Watch band, scanning it unlocks the Watch face in your Apple ID, it would work with any watch and Apple/Nike could still have their exclusivity and charge something extra.

people would post the QR codes online? It doesn’t seem like it would allow them any control.

That's why I was thinking about one-time codes. The user scans them, and redeems the watch faces, the "purchase" is then linked to the Apple ID. Similar procedure as with iTunes gift cards.

Thanks - I missed the one-time thing. That does make more sense.
