OK so finally lost it with keynote - I am sure i am just being an idiot but a number of things it does annoys me so much.

Firstly, I want to add shapes, text box's, etc where I want - I dont want to have to insert them into the middle of the screen then move them? This is so counterintuitive (especially for things like arrows!)

Secondly, on text boxes - how do i adjust the entire size - not just the width?

I am sure I have more but these two have been driving me crazy. Thanks.

You can draw a shape directly in your Keynote presentation by holding down the Option key while selecting a shape. Release the Option key and click in the slide where you want one corner of your shape to appear. Then drag the cursor to the opposite corner.

Text Boxes are just designed to show text, rather than the outline of the box, so not quite sure why this is relevant. If you want to see text in a box I suggest you use a shape instead, which can show text in it.
