Will Kushner be in FBI custody tonight for his treasonous digressions with the enemy?

Well he didn't testify under oath... it was to sr staff who will take their findings/research to senators for tomorrow's hearing.

He just made a statement from the White House. One that was a beautiful love note to his father in law.

Whatever he may or may not have done or said, it almost certainly doesn't come anywhere near treason. The USA does not have any declared enemies he could adhere to, succour or give comfort to.

Keep on daydreaming, people in Washington don't go to jail, unless they border on the insane side of Jim Traficant.

I think OP was low key trolling with this thread. Either way my sarcasm meter is low on Mondays.

This I don't get. So he can tell any fibs he wants a not face the death penalty?

Somebody should got to jail. I'd be comfortable with the Trump, Jr, the fibbing son-in-law, all doing 20 years and FLOTUS being stripped of her citizenship and deported...and the daughter for fraud.

He can still get in trouble for lying to Congress, according to CNN.

"Federal law makes it a crime to "knowingly and willfully" give "materially" false statements to Congress, even if unsworn -- which is not to be confused with the more general crime of perjury for lying under oath.

The consequences for either crime are serious: one can face up to five years in prison.

Like many criminal statutes, however, proving a witness "knowingly" sought to mislead sets a high bar for prosecution -- meaning the omission can't be merely a mistake or accident. And the "materiality" requirement means the false statement has to actually matter -- i.e., a tendency to influence the listener. CNN "

I was thinking that was the case, but didn't feel like digging up the actual law about lying to Congress, thanks.

    No worries.

Chuck Grassley Tweeted this yesterday while watching Jake Tapper interview Adam Schiff, or some other Dem.

Kushner's statement to the cameras made me wonder how many tums he took beforehand.
