Tomorrow I go to a shop to buy a mac. No matter what! Basically It's either a 20' iMac or a Macbook. I'm convinced about the iMac due to desktop power vs. portability but maybe I'm having doubts? Anyone out there to convince me otherwise?

If you don't need the portability the iMac is a better machine for the money, but you will be happy with either one.

enjoy the imac if you get it.

if you decide to get a macbook, i would wait a couple weeks. or maybe buy one refurbished now and save a few bucks.

A Stoned Throw From Ground Zero
C2D iMac 20" or 24" :D

Faster processing, much larger and faster 7200 RPM storage, dedicated VRAM up to 256 MB and a big bad beautiful display for page layout or multi-tasking or movies.

Go for 2 GB RAM if you can.

My daughter and her roommate both have Apple notesbooks at college.
They leave them chained to the table with their security cable.
