Late 2012 27" iMac output to my HD TV ~ confused

I've been trying to figure this out, and research it, but I didn't really figure it out.

What would I need to do in order to hook my iMac to my 37" tv?

I'm using a late 2012 iMac, 27"...

I was hoping to find a MDP to HDMI, and call it a day, but I've not been able to find info on whether that would even work.

Any help or suggestions is much appreciated.

Exactly. Just a Mini Displayport to HDMI cable will do the trick. That's what I'm using with my 2012 iMac 27" to my external monitor.

Monoprice sells cheap but high quality adapters. This one will work just fine. Audio works too. On your HDTV, change the video input to HDMI.
