left earbud not working? Covered?

I plugged in my headphones today to discover my left ear bud was only bairly outputting audio. Can I get a replacement for free at an apple store? It's from a launch 3g iPhone

Yes, as long as the iPhone is still under warranty (or AppleCare). My son had his ear bud's replaced when one stopped working. Took them to an Apple Store and they were replaced on the spot.
