Is she speaking with the giant orange boner himself or just his staff?

The article is not completely clear on that. I doubt anything comes of this.

She has cancer and all she wants to do is meet John Boehner about DOMA? What a strong person.

I'm pretty sure that she also wants to make sure that her partner and child receive her benefits if/when she dies.

BTW. I hope that if she has a chance to talk to Boehner, that she is successful in changing his mind.

Yeah, but if it gets some attention focused on this, that is a good thing.

I'm sure the meeting will be scheduled to coincide with his tanning/coloring appointment.

Sickening how a "public servant" would not want to meet with a member of the public.

We knew all along it was too good to be true.

If I were here I would be furious and set up camp right in his office, he'll have to show up at some point and if not he will have the press on his heels for acting so cowardly.

He'd probably cry. Although this time, rightfully so. And he can't be shown having compassion for someone he hates!

LOL The crying is just too much. So is the unnatural skin tone. To say someone he hates....well maybe he does maybe he doesn't. If someone doesn't agree with something, doesn't mean they hate them for it.

This is true. But somehow I'd think he just act like Mitt Romney when he was faced with a sick man who needed medical marijuana. He'd probably just walk away.

Not sure what there is to disagree with when it comes to being gay. I suppose the disagreement could be about equal rights....

I suppose it might, supporting or not supporting gay marriage or civil unions doesn't mean you love or hate gay people. By your comment, I assume you think Boehner hates this woman because she's a lesbian.

In this case, what is the disagreement? No one can ever explain it, other than religious reasons.

I am not sure, I am not the one who said Boehner hated anyone. I am sure they disagree about many things, I disagree with many things you agree with and I agree with some things. I agree with some of Boehner ideas, and I disagree with probably more of them. I wouldn't say I hate you or I hate Boehner.

Given that he represents the eighth district in Ohio, I don't think that it's all ludicrous that he won't meet with someone from New Hampshire. Not to mention that he's the current Speaker of the House; his schedule is probably a little harder to get on than other members of the House.

Were she from the Ohio eighth, I would say she has every right to meet with him.

John Boehner should lose his job effective immediately, as should all politicians voting to prevent equal rights to everyone.

If I stood up in work and said "I hate gay people and they shouldn't be allowed to use the vending machine". I'd get fired so what is the difference if a politician stands up in front of a nation and says "I hate gay people they shouldn't be allowed equal rights"?

I recommend you change employers if they have first amendment issues.

    Look at WBC.

Nope, I'd support my own firing. Its nothing to do with the first amendment, its discrimination at the work place.

John Boehner is a public representative and the public is his work place.

Good thing you're not on SCOTUS given they decided 8 to 1 in favor of Phelps in Snyder v. Phelps.
