Ladies and gentleman, we seem to be approaching the serial number "half of the million" Curious who will be getting it

Production rate seems to be accelerating to 20k devices per day.

    -------------------------------

    20k per day x 30 days = 600,000 per month.

But is it possible that LG is increasing to 1 million per month?

Could LG going for volume to make up for the low margin?

    Crude Example using hypothetical #:

selling 1 million phones at $50 profit each = $50 million profit
selling 4 million phones at $15 profit each = $60 million profit

the original article is from a website that is no very legit. International Business Time. A very grand and legit name but they are the opposite end from Wall Street Journal. Their main purpose is to create stories that would get clicks. And so far they are succeeding since a lot of people are linking to their site.

another clue that they just making it up: they used the word "alleged" and "rumour" with no citation or source.

They assumption is pretty basic: LG is making the next generation Optimus G and therefore, they are halting Nexu 4 production.

Maybe tomorrow they will report that Samsung is shutting down the production of Galaxy S3 to make way for the production of Galaxy S4. I bet that will get lot of clicks too.

p.s. T-Mobile stores are getting the Nexus 4. From the comments, some stores already have it in. And it seem the release date is January 16th.

I called a T-Mobile store today and they had 2 in stock, so sounds like they are selling them now.

LG aims to sell 45 million smartphones in 2013.

    45 mil / 12 months = 3.75 million smartphones production per month.

Maybe 1 million per month for the Nexus 4 is a bit too optimistic.

All manufacturers manipulate the numbers. What really matters is what buyers choose & how well they enjoy their purchase. Its a huge market with plenty of room for everyone. Without the competitors it would be awfully boring.
