Yeah. That milk on the kid's head could scar him for life.

Does the kid have any developmental issues? Did the um...milkman confront the kid directly before he poured milk on him? Did he confront the parent at all? It's kind of hard to pass judgement based solely on this video.

For that matter, is this video even real, or is it some sort of promotional/comedy bit?

That is a good point. What is the camera doing down there?

    ----------

Likewise I wondered about the kid's mental state.

The lighting, staging, and framing are way too precise to be from a security camera. The angle and steadiness of the shot make me think this was, at the very least, staged.

I don't agree with the milk over the head but the mother? She certainly doesn't know how to raise her child.

That could be battery against a child. All the more reason to suspect this video's bonafides.

Here's the apparent source this video came from -- titled "Felix" -- with film credits at the end.

    Edited to add the following....

According to the info below, it seems this short, little clip is the entire (short, little) film.

    A Boy's Life (Episode #1107H)
    KQED 9: Sun, May 26, 2013 -- 11:28 PM
    FELIX - Germany
An annoyingly precocious boy in a supermarket learns the hard way that for every action there is a reaction. Clocking in at just 43 seconds, this is the shortest film to air ever on Imagemakers. While short in length, it does not lack for impact or lack or laughter. Written and directed by Anselm Belser. Principal cast: Felix Muller, Daniela Blaschke and Paul Ohmert.

Did anyone seriously watch that and think it was real? Come on. This was one of the singly most obvious staged videos ever.

If I was the kid and that guy poured milk on me, I would have just bit his leg.

Seeing him pour the milk made me smile, not gonna lie.

Kids are the worst though, don't plan on having any. I would hate to be the person raising the kid version of myself.

On some RWA (Right Wing Authoritarian) website somewhere there are people lamenting the state of today's parenting, celebrating the guy who poured the milk, and calling for "zero tolerance" of checkout line ramming.

I'm about as far right wing as it gets on this forum and I think the guy was completely in the wrong. Two wrongs never make a right. (Although three rights do make a left, just ask UPS.)

Perhaps we need a new sub-topic area devoted to film reviews...

The OP may not have known this was a film when he posted it.

True. ;) I wonder tho' if the guy who wrote the film saw it as an exploration of a moral dilemma, or if he ever imagined it would end up being examined from that sort of perspective.

The video certainly seemed to have gone viral just recently (per the report below.) I suppose its discussion on Reddit was largely responsible for turning it into a political topic which helped make it an overnight Internet sensation. The guy that created it probably wishes he was seeing some economic benefit from those 3-million + views -- he probably could have made a whopping $30 or so from Google by now. ;)
