iPod touch Location Message / WiFi Mac address

Hi All, I am new to the forum and this question might have been raised before but I am haing trouble with the WiFi not letting the ipod know the location, and this is happening with the other app's that require location. The simple settings (turn on the location settings) I have done but I did read on another web page (The iPod Touch, Location Services, and Skyhook: Let’s Make This Work title)

This however, I think doesn't apply to me as I don't thave the skyhook thingo....any suggestions for a newbie please
