Friend of mine has a Telus 3GS, which isn't activated.
He doesn't have a Telus sim, as he is on Fido
It seems like it's stuck at the Emergency Call screen, so when swiping it just brings up the keypad.

How can you get it out of that mode, and to the homescreen so we can find out the FW and Jailbreak accordingly?

Or *must* the phone be activated with a Telus sim first, before we can do anything?

You know what firmware its on right now and if it has any shsh blobs saved on cydia?

no idea what firmware, since we can't get to the homescreen to see settings

my idea is, since my friend is on windows

use sn0wbreeze to jb/hacktivate an IPSW and update/restore the phone with that...

dunno if it'll work
