I recently bought a new 5k imac, And here goes the specs:
i7 4.2ghz ,
radeon pro 580
16gb ddr4 ram(installed by apple so the problem doesnt come from here)
3tb fusion drive (2TB partition for macos and 1 TB for bootcamp)
i also have the mid 2014 macbook pro which runs logic fantastic but this one...
even zooming in or out in audio wave forms is a bit laggy and when i zoom and press play, then the indicator is laggy it feels a bit slow and im running logic 10.3.2 and its not a heavy project
and the computer is completely fine
its kinda ironic, i bought this mainly for logic x
cause i connect my komplete kontrol maschine studio and Userinterface ;and i needed all the 6usb ports plus the big screen
latest bootcamp games run almost maxed out 1440p (WWII assassins creed origins older games from 2016-15 )most of them) get 60fps or more on the highest setting 1440p)

so why is that i know its got some to do wit the fusion drive and dont tell me to difuse them but is there anyway to improve this laggy performance on a top-end imac like resseting the pram smc or something ?
im almost sure this is because of the fusion drive or maybe its cause logic runs on ssd and the project files are on the hdd? even when i connected hdd to my rMBP it performed great so im really confused and disappointed right now
please help!!!!!
thanks in advance
[doublepost=1511709341][/doublepost]UPDATE:ive been running the project for like 20 minutes and its running fine its the ssd performance but how can i prevent this from happening i dont know if its abug or sth but my guess is that the project is going back and force between ssd and the hdd
but it really bothers me when icreate a new project and ill just have to hope it runs on ssd i dont know maybe it shouldnt be laggy on the 7200rpm or something i can tweak in logic settings
im looking up to you guys!im sure there are lots of informed guys here but i dont have much experience with audio production on a fusion drive
and excuse my language
[doublepost=1511709420][/doublepost]UPDATE 2: right after i typed the first UPDATE i checked out the same project with out even closing it and its back to that laggy performance and everything is closed except the one safari tab im typing this in

come on guys somebody must know about this...
my 2914rMBP with a dead GPU (always running on the gt750 ) runs logic perfectly zoomin in and out or scrolling everything is super fast
but ths one is just super laggy...
theres gotta be something i could do cause im almost sure its fusion-drive-relasted
