I am trying to get my entire house wired with wireless and wired speakers for my entire media center, however I am in need of a pair of wirless outdoor speakers and good indoor speakers if anyone has any suggestions. I was going to hit up the Bose Factory outlet near me this summer, but I am not sure if anyone has any Bose wireless they can comment on?

People ask me this all the time. My answer is, There are no such thing as wireless speakers. Any current wireless system sends signal via RF, which means and "wireless" speaker has to have an RF receiver to get the signal, and an amplifier to drive the speaker it self. This means the amp, and RF receiver need a power source to do that. Either battery, or plug in. Its probably easier to run actual speaker wires, than power to everywhere you would want speakers. The only acceptions I know are the Klipsch Light speakers, which replaces a typical can light bulb, and uses the power from the light, to receive and power each speaker. Either that, or Sonos, which is basically an amp with a wifi receiver to drive speakers in a room.

So Battery powered, or wall plug in, or traditional speakers, some way or another, your going to need some wires!

Sonos make wireless speakers in addition to the base stations you mention - google the sonos S5. It's basically a speaker unit with the proprietary sonos streaming tech built in. They seem to be well regarded, however it is a very pricey solution relative to the sound quality offered. You are really paying for the ease and convienience of the sonos proprietary wireless system (they don't use wifi, and unlike AirPlay it can syncronise playback to multiple speakers in your home so that your music doesn't go out of sync as you move from room to room).

Alternatively there are a whole host of AirPlay enabled units on the way, such as the Zeppelin air.
