I'm hoping to get some advice on a CDRW. All I need is a dependable unit that will do the job. Nothing fancy required here. Mostly back-up use. Cost, ease of use and dependability are the main factors. Any ideas out there? I currently use 9.1 and BW G3 300 but will likely be using OSX after clearing out some much needed space. Also comments on BW G3 300 and OsX performance wanted. Thanks

I haven't shopped for CDR/RW drives in a long time, so I don't know about specific models.

But, look for the ones with Disc-burner compatibility.

If it's compatible with Apple's disc-burner standard, you can burn disks by just poppoing them in the drive, just like writing data on hard drives or MOs. Using disk burning apps to burn disks is so frustrating. Oh, and you can also burn CDs from iTunes if it's disc-burner compatible.

Well, this is kinda obvious advice I guess. You might know about it already, huh?
