I'm at a loss for words.

McConnell's vote in favor of the federal farm bill has left cockfighting enthusiasts furious and threatening political damage to Kentucky's senior senator in the May 20 Republican primary.

"This will destroy Mitch McConnell in Kentucky," said Craig Davis, president of the United Gamefowl Breeders Association.

In an interview Tuesday, Davis said the new law could have any number of unintended consequences that make criminals of law-abiding citizens, boasting that he could move as many as 60,000 votes against McConnell if their concerns were not heard.

Paul, who voted against the bill, has escaped the wrath of people who say their "culture and heritage" was misunderstood and wrongly maligned.

"When you make a law like that, you take good taxpaying people and you turn them into criminals overnight," Davis said. "The grass roots on this are not playing games anymore. They've been beaten and battered for 30 years. They're rural people. They want to be left alone."

Davis said a number of his association's members suggested Monday that they turn to Republican challenger Matt Bevin in the May primary, but Davis said they should wait to see whether McConnell was amenable to hearing them out.

And, you know, hideous animal cruelty...
It's chickens for christ sake.....you eat them if they loose or feed them if they win.

It's not like a bear and cat fight which use to happen a lot.

You didn't even know about it 'til this thread. Just forget about it and go hug a tree......

So you're for animal cruelty then? Good to know.
So chasing down a chicken and ringing it's neck isn't?

How do you think farm animals get to your table?
Somebody has to kill it.

Ever been hunting, with a gun?.....no didn't think so.
Animals just don't keel over on to your plate, they have to be
killed......humanly...look it it up it's purely about human feelings
not the animals.

Do you really think cock fighting is "humanly"???

On tenterhooks
Someone left the door open.

And you eat hens, or at least most of us do, not cocks, unless they are capons bred for their size.

I await the castration defence. ;)

I'm saying what's the difference whether or not you ring it's neck
or it does what comes naturally to roosters?

Blame the rooster it's the one doing the killing.

So is it also the dogs fault for killing the other dog in a dog fight when it is the human training that behavior into them?

The difference you have already mentioned. Humanly. Ringing the neck would be a rather quick death. Where being speared and cut by razor sharp blades over and over again till you bleed out, doesn't sound to humanly does it?

Last time I checked, shooting an animal in hopes of a quick death is also a humanly thing to do. If you don't kill it in the first shot, once on scene with the animal a second shot to the head usually puts the animal out of it's misery.

Last I checked, the farmer didn't put razors on the cow's hooves and put in into a death cage match with another cow while a bunch of backwards ass people watched and gambled on the outcome.

Yes, I've been hunting with a gun. Frankly, one of the most boring days I've ever spent.

Since you have no problem putting animals in a circle to fight to the death, lets put you in a ring to fight another human to the death.

You shouldn't have a problem with that....

If you don't drop it with the first shot you track it as it bleeds to
death......it's done legally all the time. Life is cruel, just be
thankful your not the one having to do the dirty work so you can
have that nice turkey, or whatever, dinner.

90% or more of you people would starve to death if you suddenly
had to feed yourself and family.......

You could put all the blades you wanted on cow but you won't get
them to fight. Cocks on the other hand will kill each other without
the blades it just takes longer....

You'd starve to death if you had to feed yourself but your perfectly
happy to let someone else do it for you......and then turn around
and complain about how they did it....grow up. It's a big and tuff
world we live on.......

The penalties included in the new federal law put serious teeth into what is already criminal activity, although Kentucky law enforcement officials have rarely cited individuals for the misdemeanor offense.
its considered a crime already. I have no sympathy for this.

Exactly, it is a quick death. Not a long drawn out, inhuman, bleed-out, cut to shreds death. When was the last time you at a roster from a cock fight? yeah I don't think you have. Or maybe you have, given your location. I don't know.

90% or more of us live in the 21st century.
Time is relative and you still have to kill for the meat you eat, your
just letting someone else to the dirty work.

Chickens just don't jump into your arms you have to chase it and
catch it. Do you think the chicken enjoys that?......oh wait I guess
you do since you think it humane.
