well this time i did a full restore from itunes. I let itunes just download the firmware itself and do it own thing. when i pwnd it, i used the restore file itunes retrieved. not the linked one on the net. seems fine now. hope this might help someone.
UPDATE:
wait, ok now i know why. If i restore from my previous itunes profile it wouldnt work, but would be fine if I setup the phone as a new phone. my guess is because I used bossprefs before in 114 to disable edge and that setting is set in a file somewhere and since bossprefs is not available for 2.0 now, that setting stuck. so just setup as a new phone.
