Ok I've got my mp3s on my site and want to be able to stream them. I chose m3u format cuz it seemed the most simple.
Here's the problem. My understanding is that you make a normal text file with one line of text saying the URL of your mp3 file and then name the sucker with an m3u extension. Kind of like .ram files.
When you click on the link to an m3u on a windows machine it automatically comes up in whatever streaming app they use. On mac it never works like that for MY site. I click on the link and it reads it as a text file in both IE and Safari, displaying the one line of text in the browser window. To get it to work I have to do a save as with the file and then open it in iTunes.
Weird part, it opens iTunes automatically on almost any other site I can find with m3u files and most of their files look like mine! I've tried so many text app, text formats, binary and ascii upload, different ways of writing the file, and I still have now clue why it's just my site where the files don't work! What makes everyone else so special?!
lol
If anyone knows an exact way of doing this on a mac where it will automatically open iTunes when you click on the link and not give the lamer line of text in the browser, PLEASE tell me cuz I've tried everything I can think of.
