Mac network

    New here and new to Mac. Just purchased new imac and macbook pro for my at home small business. Im looking for the best way to "network" the two computers to share all files printer etc.. Where can i find set up instructions and layout options etc.?

    Well, you'll probably want the printer and files on your iMac so you can carry the MacBook Pro about with you. If you don't already have a wireless router, you should probably get one of those. In a pinch, you can configure the iMac to act like a wireless router itself, although that would require you to have your iMac on whenever you wanted to use your MacBook Pro online at home.

    The computer I'm on right now can't handle videos too well (give it a break, it's 8 years old), but you might find these videos to be of use. I don't know how familiar you are with networking and computers in general, so I apologize if you find them a bit basic.

    Just ignore when they talk about needing an "AirPort base station". That's just Apple trying to sell you their ridiculously overpriced wireless router. There's nothing particularly special about it.
