Hi!
I want to run Logic Pro x and Final Cut Pro, but can’t really afford the hefty price tag on the new Mac Pro.
I’m hopeless with specs, so was wondering if someone could help?

Would this refurb Mac pro fit the bill? (spec below) And if not, how would I soup it up to do the job well?
Many thanks in advance for any replies!

Not sure if it means much, but I've seen people running Final Cut Pro on last year's 13" MacBook Pro machines.. and their specs aren't even close to what you've listed. I'm not sure about Logic Pro, though.

Don’t know if you currently have any of the software already on another machine.

FCPX needs 10.14 to run, so you would have to upgrade the gpu to a metal gpu.
Long story short....to install 10.14 you need the firmware updating which needs a metal gpu.

Software should run with current hdd/ram but upgrades are nice (ssd and more ram).

Thanks so much. I don’t have them already.
Was thinking about this gpu-

Would this work?

Getting a 1Tb ssd too, but do you have any advice on RAM?

I probably shouldn’t be on this forum, I am clueless really, but really want to try and make this work!

Doesn’t particularly need to be registered.
Crucial memory is good, just put in your Mac model in the pull down menus.
