My brand new MacBook arrived today, however, located on the aluminium shell at the lower left corner of the screen is a scratch. Usually, I would ignore such a small mark, however, this one is slightly dented into the aluminium too. As this is a new MacBook out of the box, what can Apple do for me? And will they do it? I mean, for a £1900 computer, you don't expect this. :(

call them up or go into the store and demand a new one, without any blemishes ;)

Will there be a long delay? This Mac was a BTO (Just the Hi-Res Screen) so will they replace it with one from the UK, or from the factory in China? I really can't afford that much time without a laptop as my job depends on it.

Whatever you do, get it resolved before the initial 2 weeks are up. Worse case you can return it and buy another one.

Best bet, go to an Apple Store ASAP.

Yup, I'm going to do just that :) Thanks for helping me out guys.

If you call apple and want something else such as free apple care or a mouse etc. you can try that. My friend had a similar problem but there is no apple store in Taiwan but with the call he got a free gift.

maybe it's just really small and he's embarrassed that he's so anal. in which case, i still don't blame him. any computer more than $600 i would expect to be perfect out of the box. xD

i post a thread with a small issue a while back and i get b****ed at
