I just traveled to Cleveland on a trip, and when I got here I hooked up my Macbook Pro, which had been in sleep mode in OSX. I opened the notebook, and everything was fine as usual, screen looked fine. I then rebooted the computer to go into Boot Camp and use Windows, and instead of rebooting the screen went black. So I shut the power off, and then restarted the computer, and all of a sudden, all of the graphics (for the hard drive selector of Boot Camp) were totally and completely discolored. It's like a 10 color pallette, I have included a picture so you guys can see what it looks like. Anyone have any idea what to do? I've already tried taking out the battery for a bit and putting it back in - same result. This computer is a first generation Macbook Pro, the $2500 model with the 7200RPM HD added. I have already taken it into the Apple store under Applecare for noise problems, and they replaced the mainboard, hard drive, all cables, and all fans.

DUDE, that looks friggin' cool!

neways... I seem to recall my buddy had the same problem with an Asus laptop after he overclocked the GPU a little too much. My guess is your GUP is dying, I'd back everything up asap, and then take it to Apple.

But first try resetting the pram and then reseating the ram

Does the screen get any weirder/KP when the computer starts to really heat up?

Applecare had me reset the PRAM and that fixed the problem. Thanks guys.
