Took @bradl suggestion and stayed up and listened to Alaska Air Traffic Control tower last night 😄

[Going to @Goldfire @quomaru @nyctravis pallet buddies]

I heard PANC clear UPS89 and UPS91 early this morning to land 🤓 UPS89 departed after UPS91 from Incheon, Korea but ended up landing first in Alaska and did not fly to Kentucky, it's already flown back to Korea to start another round. My guess is whatever cargo they have is transferred to another UPS flight.

UPS91 has already left Alaska and landed in Kentucky. I don't think UPS is updating tracking? I just can't imagine them unloading and leaving an entire airplane worth of cargo of Apple Products headed for Kentucky in Alaska, just to reload it with different cargo with the same destination? 🥲

UPS also shows two departures from Incheon, Korea for me: 8:25am and 10:13am. Not sure what 10:13am is about, that wasn't there last night and only appeared after Alaska arrival update:

My tracking still says that it's going to be delivered by 7PM tonight. I'm skeptical lol

There's been no UPS flights to my city's hub from Kentucky. The earliest UPS flight from Kentucky is about to leave in 1hr 30mins. If my order is on that plane, it'll land by 4:43pm and the truck driver would only have from 5-8pm to make the delivery? That seems so rushed. There are 4 other UPS flights with various departure times to my city hub, but that would more than likely result in a Nov 4th Delivery.

I would be surprised if UPS made it to my house by 7PM tonight 😆

Nice work! Keep us posted.
Hopefully your 💻 arrives to your doorstep soon. Fingers are crossed :)

Same issue as others. Arrived in ZZ 10/29. Last update was 11/1. No movement.

Edit: Not familiar with the city, I looked it up. Does anyone know why UPS lists the city with two capital Z's? Google and wikipedia do not. It's particularly interesting given there is no space between them, so the capital Z for Zhou jumped out at me.

Nice grats!!

Mine made it to “Processing at UPS Facility” in my local city at 9:21am local time. Then I got a text saying it is coming today between 1 and 4pm. But my tracking doesn’t say that it’s loaded onto truck for delivery yet. :( I wish I could just go pick it up! But at least it will likely be here tomorrow at latest for me!🕺
I stand corrected, it was delivered today!! Woohoo! I thought there was no hope without a scan being loaded onto a delivery truck. Years of waiting and it’s finally here!! This was a 14” BTO SG with 10/16/16 and 32 GB RAM, ordered on the night it launched with initial window of Nov 5-9. 2 days early, I’ll take it! I’m now wishing luck to all those waiting for their new Pro babies!!

Sadly, unless it's in your city or you are in Anchorage it won't make it today. But weird to see no updates still.

Wow, I bet that was cool to listen to! I am still holding out hope ours were on one of those flights to KY but they are just delayed in reporting the scans as others including @TheYayAreaLiving have pointed out. Crossing fingers we get an update soon although I do think hope is fading for yours to come today. But still crossing fingers nonetheless. I hope our MBP's have found each other in the pallet and are having a blast on their travels.

Sorry for the ignrance but are yoi talking about the 14 and 16" M1 MBPs being available?

I just chatted with UPS and they don’t provide any information about what airplane the unit is on. Someone obviously has it, but the chat person apparently did not.

Are all items going to Louisville first, or only for east coast destinations?

We will know they got on the airplane WiFi and we’re having a party if the batteries are low when they arrive… look for odd SSIDs and Bluetooth pairings…
The batteries that are in the 💻 are very efficient. You can easily go one full week without charging your Mac. Plenty of battery power :)

All shipment goes to Louisville, KY. From there it gets distributed. The reason why because of the custom clearance and all, International shipment.

Got it, thanks. Seems like Anchorage could handle customs, but there are way more flights out of Louisville.

Do we know the typical turnaround in Louisville? I assume it’s hard to tell because departing flights are all over the schedule.

Wow, thanks for all that. That search tool is super handy. How long is the normal processing time when things are running smoothly? It seems like it must be at least an hour or two.

I wouldn't think it would take very long? I searched through this thread quickly to see if anyone uploaded a screenshot of their orders arriving, but couldn't find anything. Was going to use their timeframe to extract US Custom Clearance rate haha

Assuming that my order was on UPS91, they landed in 11:13am in Kentucky EDT (UTC -4). So counting forward from that, the earliest flight to my city hub leaves from Kentucky at 3:49pm. That would give them roughly 4.5 hours to unload, load, do customs clearance. I'm not sure if that's enough time, those packages still have to be sorted in their facility for each state. If it were to arrive by today, those would be some crazy lighting speed LOL 😬

Where did you listen to Alaska Air Traffic Control? I'd be interested in listening to that even though my Macbook is still stuck in ZhengZhou.:rolleyes:

Sure 😆

SAME! Still no update on my UPS tracking 😑

The plane stops in Anchorage, Alaska for fueling to Louisville, KY.

Correct! Louisville, KY is the final shipment hub. It’s also UPS’s motherland. You will get a clear idea once you see that “Import Scan”. That is the final clearance ensuring your package is set to arrive to you. You just have to track the flights that are going on your way.

anyone stuck in ANC with me? no updates whatsoever since 11.17PM ADT.
Yep, my 16" is stuck at the same spot - and UPS changed my delivery date from tomorrow to today, but there has been no movement. It said it will arrive by 7pm, but I typically get packages by noon - which was 4 hours ago, so I am assuming UPS will update the ETA back to tomorrow, again!

The only thing I can think of, which would be absolutely crazy to happen with UPS...

... is if they made the flight as normal, got into PANC, realized that they forgot a pallet (or more), and had to fly back to get it because they already had their departure scan.

In fact, thinking about it, I'm wondering if that actually was the case. Nothing wrong with the flight, no diversions, or anything at all; they simply forgot to load additional cargo that had their departure scan. If that's the case.... how embarrassing. 😨

I wish I could find a laptop that could do that! I'm using my laptop between 30-40 hours per week, half of that time in editing photos and videos. If I was away from the desk, no way the battery could last that long. At the desk I leave it plugged in. While on travel, I have a DC generator I use to power the equipment while camping and editing (when not on battery power).

Like airlines losing bags? They usually just put them on the next flight.

Question:

Apple told me this morning the reason I could not complete my pre-order on 10/18 was due to them not allowing any pre-order discounts from programs like Veterans and Military Purchase Plan - I told them I had never seen that advertised during or before purchase process.

Can anyone point out Apple's disclaimer to this effect or grab a screen shot to post?

Honestly I have never seen anything like that when ordering (read the small print, lol). Just curious and forlorn knowing I am looking at 11/29 to 12/3 or later for delivery. Anybody in that time frame for orders seeing delivery dates being updated sooner? Hey, I can dream! I want level 7 brightness!
I have the same issue with my government discount. I've pre-ordered literally everything in that store including M1 machines last year - so this makes no sense.
