What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

I already have it hooked up to a monitor when I’m at the desk. The huge trackpad is also really nice but I just use the Magic Mouse if I’m at the desk.

I just tried typing on the 14 and 16 back to back and the 14 just feels more comfortable and efficient. I can’t explain it
Always Magic Mouse when at the desk. 👊

Seems like the keyboard might be a deal breaker for you, maybe the extra length on the 16” model is making it uncomfortable to type on.

Give it a bit more time, if it’s still the same return the 16” model. 🥺

@CoffeeMacBook @quomaru @nyctravis Looks like they didn't miss a scan, just held up in AK all day. There's a flight out of KY to my city at around 4:30am, so I suppose it is possible it could end up here tomorrow, but I assume it'll be Friday at the earliest.

I would guess we're now on flight 61: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS61/history/20211103/2319Z/PANC/KSDF

It's HAAPPPPPEENNNINGGGG, AGAIN!!!

It looks like my package has split from our pallet friends? My shipment didn't leave Alaska until 11:31pm. There's no longer a delivery date estimate for me.

I have a feeling it might be here on Friday Nov 5th and not Thursday 🥲 It's the only flight that has left at 11pm from Alaska tonight. 🤞🏻Hopefully moves through Kentucky quickly.

I saw this very informative video made about 2 years ago about how quickly UPS processes packages through WorldPort (their Kentucky facility):

I have learned so much about UPS, planes, air traffic control, and shipping this week 🤓

Maybe. My wrist just don’t feel as comfortable. I think someone here also mentioned not liking the 16 because of the keyboard but I don’t remember who.

It’s too bad because I was slightly leaning towards 16 until I started typing on it for an extended period of time.

Keyboards are exactly the same size, it’s definitely the extra length that’s bothering you.

Comfort always come first, stick with the 14” model.

Spend the extra money on 👇 or don’t.

If battery life is all you're concerned about, so be it! But portability has more importance for my usage. The 16" is a no-go for me, and if the 14 wasn't produced I would have kept the MBA.
Of course not, I’ve had two 13” models before getting the 16” model, portability wise you can’t beat them. Wanted the bigger display this time.

You should know me by now, 99% of the time, I’m always having a laugh.

I’m always congratulating people on their purchases, there is no wrong choice.

For the love of god 🤦‍♂️ I’m about to throw this MagSafe charger out the window. 🤦‍♂️

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I need to change? FFS.

If the MacBook is powered off and I go to charge it, this happens, ding, ding, ding, 🤦‍♂️😂

It charges properly once I open the lid. I can close it again, and it’ll continue charging.

Any ideas?

That definitely does not look normal. I've not experienced that. 🤔

Oh, don't take me wrong..... I'm not upset. It was a good article and comparison of batteries per SOC type. In fact, I'd have expected to see this comparison made earlier. It's interesting how the extra bandwidth of the Max makes that much difference. For people who like big screens and great battery life, it looks like the M1 Pro 16" is by far the best choice.

Thanks mate

Shut it down completely, close the lid, wait a min, then plug in the MagSafe cable.
  • Shutdown, lid closed.
  • Plug in cable. Light is red and there is a beep, at which time the light blinks red again then turns green and remains green.
  • Open lid, light turns from green to red, the Mac startup sound occurs then and the light turns green and remains green.

Think I worked it out, it has something to do which battery percentage.

It just charged to full from 30% right now.

Took out the cable, turned on the mac, shut it down again, plugged in the cable, didn’t have the issue again.

Maybe if your battery percentage is really low, the machine needs to be when plugging in the charger.

Really can’t be bothered getting a replacement over this. 🤦‍♂️

Thanks for checking.

These are my settings for 'Battery' and 'Power Adapter':

I think you're right. My battery is at 100% now so it went green.

My order went from processing to preparing to ship yesterday! I got a base 16" with 1TB SSD and my original delivery date was Nov 17 - Nov 24. I would like to track it via UPS, so does anyone know what I should use for my tracking number? I already tried order number, order number without last number and order number without the W in front of it.

I think you'll have to wait for the email from Apple when it ships. My UPS tracking number was included in that, but I can't find it on the Order status page on Apple's site.

Apple will send an email with a tracking number and your order page status will change to “shipped”. 📦
