What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

I like it as well, as I've been looking at silver for the past 10.5 years. Space Gray will be a welcome change. Besides, immediately when it comes in, I'm throwing the dbrand Matte Black skin on it: Top, Bottom, Trackpad, Palm rest area, the entire lot.

And it's okay if you don't like space gray, @theliellama. You can be completely happy with silver; I tend to see this as my nor anyone else's choices not being pigeonholed into what you like, what you think everyone else should like, or that your opinion is the only one that matters. ;)

Besides.. you would have hated Apple 40 years ago; Tan was the only color you had, and if you didn't like it, you'd have to hobble back to your old Speak'n'Spell.

You’re good. I tried using the skin on the trackpad once and it totally freaked me out. Maybe it was because I was using the Titanium but I had to take it off immediately.

I am getting impatient though. I checked their site again and it still indicates ‘Pre-order… ships in November’. I’m thinking we may have them by the end of the month-beginning of December. 🤞
 
Closing in on the one week anniversary to my laptop arriving in ZhengZhou. I've been pretty patient but I actually do need this for my mid-December trip and am now concerned about backlogs. Starting to get pretty worried.

Just got off the phone with UPS (after two very unhelpful live chats). They are starting an "investigation" on the whereabouts of the package. Of course, that didn't happen until they helpfully told me my estimated delivery date is today (system has not shown me a delivery date in five days) and that it's possible it could have missed every scan since ZhengZhou since it departed and be delivered today. Sure, UPS guy.

Anyways, this "investigation" will take one to eight(!) business days, so that's fun.

The very unhelpful UPS support man said the package is in Kentucky, but to my knowledge there are no direct paths between ZhengZhou and Louisville (IE it would have showed up at Incheon, etc), and I still show no departure scan from the former nor an arrival scan from the latter. Based on this I'm pretty sure it's still in ZhengZhou but if UPS keeps sniffing around in Kentucky I feel like they'll never find it.

In the same pile as you people. I’ll wait until tomorrow and if no movement I’ll call Apple and ask for a refund. Then to BB and have my Pro by noon. I’m 71, I don’t have time to deal with this foolishness

I was pretty level-headed about it until UPS fed me the line about it being possible that it missed every single scan between ZhengZhou and here and could be delivered today. I understand that customer support is a terrible job where you have to deal with mad people all day, but please don't feed me BS like that. Ugh.

Yeah, that's not credible.

I'm in the same situation: No delivery estimate for four days and no change in status for at least two. It's still sitting in ZZ, as far as I know.

It looks like my package has split from our pallet friends? My shipment didn't leave Alaska until 11:31pm. There's no longer a delivery date estimate for me.

I have a feeling it might be here on Friday Nov 5th and not Thursday 🥲 It's the only flight that has left at 11pm from Alaska tonight. 🤞🏻Hopefully moves through Kentucky quickly.

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully today is the day we’ll see some sort of a movement. A lot of people reported they are stuck in China!
 
Maybe. My wrist just don’t feel as comfortable. I think someone here also mentioned not liking the 16 because of the keyboard but I don’t remember who.

It’s too bad because I was slightly leaning towards 16 until I started typing on it for an extended period of time.
I’m still going to stick to the original answer. I have a feeling you will be settle with a 14” 💻 :)
 
Woah! I’ve been using the 14“ M1 Pro base model since launch day. Compared to the M1, the battery life is bit low. But oh boy the performance! I don’t usually edit videos through Final Cup Pro, but I have to these couple of days (I’m a grad student, mostly ML research). I have to edit zoom recordings of classes to post to YouTube. On the M1, it takes me 4-8 minutes to analyze the audio in FCP, but this thing just does it in less than a minute. This is for a video which is 1:30 hrs. Even exports are super fast! Same thing would be out in less than 10 mins, it is with less edits per say and just cropped etc.. but wow! M1 took me close to 30 mins for exports for some reason.

Now I gotta find a way to pay for this thing :D
 
Seems like the arrival scan visibility was about :45 delayed from the time stamp. Most of the import scans I’ve seen happen with :30 of arrival. That’s 1:15, but it’s been two hours. So I don’t think the import is happening tonight. And with the next flights 12 hours from now, won’t be seeing the machine until Friday. Womp womp..
Any updates? Did you get an import scan in KY?
